LBWK Mazda RX-7 Widebody at the Festetics Castle – IDOLZ 2025
There are moments when a photographer finds the shot that made the whole trip worthwhile. At the IDOLZ 2025 event, in front of the golden-lit façade of the Festetics Castle in Dég, those moments came one after another – all because of one car.
Liberty Walk (LBWK) is one of the most iconic names in the widebody scene. This turquoise, orange and burgundy Mazda RX-7 is a testament to their craft: massive fenders, extreme wide-body kit, and a visual language that blends 1970s Le Mans racing cars with modern street culture. The Rotiform wheels and Toyo Tires combination shows attention to detail – this is not a hastily assembled show car, but a carefully considered concept.
From a photographer's perspective, the location was a gift. The warm amber glow of the neoclassical castle contrasted against a dramatic stormy sky – that tension is something no post-processing can replicate, only patience. The car's turquoise was just intense enough to stand out from the background, while still holding a visual dialogue with the castle's golden light.
IDOLZ does something right in its venue selection: instead of parking lots or exhibition halls, they bring cars to cultural landmarks where the contrast itself becomes the content. A 200-year-old castle and an LBWK widebody have nothing in common – and that's exactly why it works.
These photos say it all. The car spoke for itself, the castle provided the frame, and the dusk did the rest.
